Bio: Born in most remotest of places in Wales, Toby was literally trapped in this village for the majority of his early years. The village was ravaged weekly by extreme weather. Snow, one day, and rain the next. Every person in the village had to be ready. Only the real hardy could survive there.
His family were you’re average family. They were loving and caring. He had an older brother named Jacob. The two were always close. From birth his brother was always troubled with illness. He contracted various types of cancer throughout his early years, needing medication and specialist help constantly. He was weak for what seemed like forever. Desperate, the family took drastic measures. A man named Dr. Moroso, a down and out but cheap scientist, believed he had found a revolutionary cure to this. The idea worked, for a while. After about a month of healthy living Jacob contracted cancer again. And once the dreaded side effects kicked in, his family took him off the drugs immediately. Dr. Moroso deeply advised not to do this, but they carried on. What followed was a week of uncertainty.
After that week something strange happened. It was if nothing had ever to him. The years passed and Jacob grew up and becoming exceedingly healthy. Jacob is four years older than Toby and obviously hit puberty first. This is where the real trouble began.
Jacob started to breakdown, mentally. He had seem to been given the ability to pick things up and throw them around. It was uncontrollable. Things would fly around when Jacob was asleep or just plain angry. He could not do it voluntarily. And to make matters worse he had been cursed with puberty’s mood swings. Toby's parents just didn't know what to do. He couldn't go out, he couldn't do anything. Professional help was needed.
They moved to a city to see a top expert in this field. Even though he could help him, he was still slightly puzzled. The condition he had was unique. It needed to be constantly monitored. His parents left him at this institute and he is there to this very day.
*******
Years have passed and the family fell apart. Toby’s parents broke up over financial issues over Jacob who is still in the institute and who hasn’t stopped growing. His powers are wild and dangerous as well as his size. The medication he took in his childhood is acting as a growth hormone and is telling him to grow still to this very day. His food and drink have to be given in moderation as it may fuel this unstoppable growth. He had a faulty X-gene at birth and that is what caused him the cancer. The drugs that Dr. Moroso added, was like fuel to the fire. The medication and the X-gene, evolved with each other and became one.
A few years later at the Institution.
A seemingly normal check-up in the Institute change into a life-changing experience for one of it’s clients, Mr Jacob Jones.
“How is Jacob doing?” a small nurse tried to peer into the window.
“Ssssh!” the seemingly tall doctor looked down on the woman. “He isn’t ready. I don’t care what Marshall says.”
The doctor turned off down the hallway. The nurse looked into the small round window. Inside the padded room was a mystery. His name was Jacob Jones. A man who will never stop growing.
“That guy is just such a mystery.” the nurse sighed, gazing upon the lonely man.
She dropped down onto her feet and looked about. Alone, temptation run amok in her head. She wondered what on each can make him tick. Her hand slid over to the handle on the door. The gentle clinging of her keys was followed with them rising out from her pocket. A scrape of metal could be heard as the key slipped into the lock. The sound of success could be heard in the form of a satisfying click as the door wafted open. The hulk of a man turned around and was surprised to see a visitor.
“What are you doing here?” the booming voice blasted the woman with a question. “I-ii…I haven’t got..a….aa..…an appointment until Friday.” The years of isolation, made the man hard to interact with humans.
“I just want to see you, I’m curious.” she stepped closer to the massive man. “I just want to meet the man behind the legend. No one knows how you tick. I was wondering if I could find out”
The petite Asian nurse creeped up to him. He reached down to the floor. She just looked at him in sheer amazement. Her tiny hands grasped his bulky head. They went round to the back where a stopper was implanted into his brain.
“No, I’m not ready!” Jacob roared at the woman.
“Wait a minute. How can you be so positive that you aren’t ready, your hardly ever switched off. I think its time to see if you can.” The woman stood back from him. She picked a card from her pocket and waved it out in front of him. His eyes were fixed upon the card as if it were gold.”
He turned around and the woman swiped the card through. Jacob let out a huge sigh. He closed the door and picked the pen from the nurses pocket, with his mind. The nurse gasped in awe as her pen flew around the room. His big face grinned as he saw the happiness of the nurse’s face.
“See you can control your power.”
“I can…..” Jacob blew open the door. “I’m sorry.”
Jacob ran out the room and through the wall. He fell down from the fifth floor of the institute, unscathed. The nurse ran to the gaping hole in the side of the building and watched Jacob escape. Helplessness gripped her and guilt riddled her body.
