(changed a few minor things)
Jex lay proped up against two pillows. He rubbed his hands across the indents in either temple, where the bolts had been. The grandfather clock in the hall chimed loudly. Jex sighed deeply, it was good to be able to think again.

Suddenly, there came a small knock on the door to the boy's dorm room. Cami Grey stood impatieantly on the other side, tapping one foot and crossing her arms before undoing them again and knockign again, only a tad bit louder.
"Hello? Jex?" the brunette camly asked, flipping annoying hair out of here sliver blue eyes. Pressing ehr ear to the door, she placed a hand on the door knob and moved ehr ear to the door waiting for a responce.

Jex moved to get up, the blood rushing to his head almost knocking him back over. He pulled himself out of bed and stumbled over to the door. He twisted the handle and opened it. "Hi Cami." he said, his headach and dizziness melting away at the sight of her.

Standing with one hand on her hip, Flash was shocked as the door moved out from under her. Stumbling a bit, she came face-to-face with Jex, a fellow mutant. "Oof!" her eyes widened, as she tripped over her fuzzy blue slippers.
Catching her composure, the rebelous teen smoothed out her short silver sleeping shorts and shock blue spaghetti strap shirt that read, "Grumpy" across the top. The lightning blue color of her clothing brought out the blue tones in her hair that had been died in several streaks through the deep, flipped out auburn waves. "Um... Hey, I just came to... check on you," she flushed slightly as she tromped into the room, her sparkly blue slippers draggin on the wood floor in his room.
Across the way, she spotted John's bed and his dresser that had been shoved into a corner by Rogue and Bobby and had not yet been tossed out. Tears lingering at the edge of her eyes, Cami tried to ignore them and looked away, pretending to be interested in Jex's new set up of her old boyfriend's room.

"Come in." Jex said, shutting the door and fumbling back over to his bed, sitting down, trying not to look as terrible as he felt. "Thanks," he said with a smile, "for checking in on me." he added with another smile.
He could here voices on the outside of his room, he listend as they past, returning his focuss to Cami.

Turning back to Jex, Flash smiled slightly, "Hey! No problem! After all, what kind of a friend would I be if I didn't?" she asked liftign her shoulders a bit in a slight shrug, one strap of her tank top sliding down her upper arm, as she planted herself next to him on the bed. "You look... um... either tired or really depressed... or sick." Looking worried, her eyes flashed a slight silver as they surveyed him.
Returning to their lightning blue color, Cami's large round eyes glanced down at her slippers before she lifted a hand to adjust her strap that had slid down her shoulder. Though, it decided to have a mind of it's own and fall again. Rolling her eyes, she decided to leave it, because she'd never get it to stay up.
"So, um... did it hurt?" she wondered aloud. Then, hitting herself mentally she quickly answered her own question, "Why did I say that?! I mean, it couldn't have not hurt!" With a nervous laugh that sounded like chimes in the wind, the dark teen tucked loose blue strands of hair behind her double pierced ear.

"It always does." Jex answered, chuckling under his breath. "Though you think I might be used to it by now." he added, recalling the other fourteen times he'd had bolts, and pins inserted into his brain. Though he always felt it hurt more to have them removed. "So, how have you been?" he asked curiously, changing the subject, as he no longer wished to speak of his uncontrollable mind.

Rolling her eyes, Cami looked down at her pale hands examining the brilliant electric blue nail polish and thinking to herself. "Emotional, as usual.... Why do my powers have to run off of how I feel? Xavier is starting to get agrivated. Logan says I'm not trying hard enough, but in truth I am... really! I mean, it's just weird. Jean used to say that she believed me, but somehow I doubt that... majorly... however, her vote doesn't really count for much now does it?" her eyes glittered slightly as she shook her head, a frown spreading across her face.
"The whole world is against me! I mean, it didn't help when he," she jerked her thumb at Pyro's bed and dresser, "decided to leave. Then Jean... well..." A tear flickered in the corner of her eye again. "Yeah."
Crossing her legs, Cami pulled her arms into her, trying not to blow anything up, for she usually did when she got carried away like this. Flipping auburn hair over her should, she ran a hand through the blue streaks, pulling them out of her line of vision. "Sorry... you've got your own problems, you don't need mine," the teen appologized sadly.

Feeling terrible for Cami and knowing what is was like to loose someone you love, he put his arm around her shoulders. "Its ok." he said soothingly, he wished there was something he could do to make her feel better. He could take away her memories if she wanted him to, but it probably wouldn't make much difference. Pictures of his parents and the two other people whose lives he managed to extinguish. He felt a lump in his throat, he shut his eyes and pushed the images out of his head. "It'll be alright." he said, gently pulling a blue strand of Cami's hair out of her eyes.

Sitting quietly on the edge of the bed, Cami sighed deeply and leaned into Jex, trying to block out the images of her cousin saving her from the flood a few months previously. The waves... the trees... the agruement..."Get in the ship!" - "No!" - "Now!" - "Not without you!" - "Go young lady!"
Lifting her heads to cover her pale face, the teen rebel felt like she would want anything right now then the life she had to live. Finding Jex's grip on her reassuring, she didn't pull away but instead let her head rest on his shoulder.
"On the other hand, Rogue and Bobby got into a tussell this morning. It's a shame you missed it! I would pay to see it again.... well, not the fighting part... just the fact that they can never stay mad at each other for more than 30 seconds!" the dark girl smirked slightly and shook her head. "I would give anything for someone like that. John and I never stopped arguing. Complete opposites... However, it was always fun in some strangly demented way!" Chuckling slightly, she thought about what her X-boyfriend could be doing now... Hmm.... Well, I hope he gets what's coming to im!

Jex laughed, "Thats true isn't it." he said, thinking of Rogue and Bobby. "They are lucky, I've nevre been that close to anyone to have to worry about not getting along." he said, regreting the fact that he was always alone. He tried never to get attached to anoyone or anything, strangly enough it always seemed to be the people he was closest to that got hurt, and whats worse, it was always his fault. He couldn't seem to help wanting to be around Cami, but he didn't want to hurt her either. He had no idea whether or not the Professor's experiments would work, or whether they had all been in vain. He didn't want to kill anyone else, he really didn't. They sat in silence, Jex waiting for Cami to say something, he conintued to stroke her soft hair.

"John and I were close... but not that close, you know? It was one of those weird things. Anyway, I guess I didn't mean enough to him for him to stick around, huh? Just like John though... So unpredictable! Well, it's okay. Bobby says I can do better," she a grin whixped across her face as she said this. " I agree," glancing up at Jex, the corners of her lips turned up slightly, a calm smile playing across them.
Feeling his hand toying with her hair, Cami thought to herself, I wonder if Bobby meant...Probably not. Tossing that thought 'out-the-window' the youth breathed in Jex's familliar scent sighing contentedly at just being with a friend that seemed to understand her. She seemed to have trouble finding many of those lately.

Jex smiled, it was nice to just talk, he was so often alone, he had almost forgotten what it was like to sit in the company of others like him.
His subconsious mind seemed to have wandered away, returning with the image of a young girl, a mutant girl, crying. He shook his head, and pushed the image out of his head. Though he couldn't seem to shake it, Professor! he called using his telepathy. He didn't want this moment to end, so instead of letting it get to him, he mentally projected what he saw to the mind of Professor X.
Shaking his head again, he looked down at Cami, still sitting beside him. He heared a scream. "Did you here that?" he asked, whipping his head around to the door. Obviously Cami hadn't heared it, otherwise she too would have reacted. There it was again, was it all in his head or was someone really in touble. It never fails... he thought to himself with a sigh. "Hold that thought." he said, lifting his arm off her shoulders, and taking his hands to either side of his own head. In the mind of Jex: Between the vision of the screaming girl, and his failed attempts to contact the professor, and Jean no longer around, he was running out of options. Then it hit him. He concentrated hard, and mentally threw himself into Xavier's office. Xavier was talking with someone, the little girl from his vision. What the hell!? She wasn't in trouble at all, she also had mind powers. What is she doing!? Professor! She was blocking his connection. He concentrated even harder, he didn't worry about harming her, she could abviously handle herself. She yelped and passed out to the floor, the Professor turned to see Jex standing beside him.
Jex opened his eyes and turned to Cami. "We had better check this out."

"What?" As Jex pushed her away, Cami became throughly confused. "What did you hear?" The young woman's eyes became silver slits as she looked about the room searching for some sort of answer. Eyeing her friend as he brought his hands up to his temples, the teen realized that he was trying to contact someone mentally.
"What's wrong?" Cami tried to keep from sounding panicked. Her face became the slightest bit flushed as she looked worriedly at Jex sitting next to her, his face screwed up in concentration.
Is he trying to reach the Professor? Well, it could only be him as Jean isn't here anymore, right? I wonder what happened. I hate it when people have telepathic conversations, I feel so left out. Standing up, the youth had a feeling that they were about to leave the room. Smoothing out her night clothes, the rebelous girl sighed and waited for Jex's conversation to be completed.
Suddenly, she heard Jex's deep voice call out to her. Startled, she jumped slightly and turned to look him in his deep eyes. "What?"

"The Professor and a new student, in his office. She was blocking me out and yelling her head off at the same time, its like she knew that would catch my attention." Jex explained quickly as he stood up to join Cami. "We need to get over there and see if he's alright." he said anxiously, pulling on his navy blue sweatshirt and opening the door.
